A postcard to my grandfather.

Wanda found this cat-faced spider in the backyard. She was just curiously staring at it, not nipping or pawing at all. I thought it looked dangerous but it turns out they are harmless to humans. They also make good insect predators for your garden. The female lays her egg-sack in the fall and dies. Hatching the following spring, the spider-lings will eat their brothers and sisters for nutrients to survive. Nature is crazy!
